Across the world, people wrestle with their heritage and identity. Strangely, in the Western world, also here in the Netherlands, heritage is often automatically tied to migration, as if only migrants have roots. Yet in truth, every living and non-living being, every plant, stone, piece of earth, and even the Cosmos has an origin and an identity.
I too, struggled for many years with who I was. For a long time, I didn’t want to be Hindustani. My family carried intense dynamics, and I was forbidden to practice Hinduism because I had been baptized Catholic. That inner conflict felt like a double identity crisis: deep within me, I longed for my Hindustani roots to be acknowledged.
The tension between who I was raised to be and who I truly felt I was, became a suffocating cage. Many carry this kind of tension, sometimes visible, often hidden. People adapt, work hard, grow, yet somewhere deep inside, a quiet restlessness lingers: the feeling of never truly belonging.
Is the world safe?
We live in a world that often feels unsafe for many. Events unfold rapidly. People experience loss, rejection, uncertainty, deportation, war. Let us not forget the deep consequences of colonization, where the lands of indigenous peoples were taken.
Life can feel like being tossed back and forth, a plaything of circumstances. Naturally, in such moments, we look outside ourselves for reasons. We blame others: our parents, society, our history, our heritage. We feel unsafe on this earth as human beings.
But my guides showed me another perspective.
What if, amidst it all, we dared to pause and recognize that, on a soul level, we chose to become human? Not as punishment, but as experience. As growth. As discovery. As an opportunity to feel, to learn, to love, to cultivate compassion, and ultimately to come home within ourselves—and with each other—as Unity. That realization changed everything for me.
"Write a book. The title is Make Peace with Your Heritage."
It was November 16, 2019, when the universe broke in with a loud voice during a client session. I was guiding a woman struggling with her Indian heritage.
That message did not feel like a suggestion; it was an urgent call from my Guides, from the Universe.
It wasn’t just about this session, or this woman. It was universal. About a theme many carry, often without words: the inner conflict with their heritage. When this conflict with being human persists, leaving you feeling unsafe, unwanted, or unhappy, you cannot connect with your heart and soul. You live apart from your soul instead of in union with it.
Making peace with your heritage does not mean everything was perfect or that everything makes sense. It means stopping the inner fight against who you are and against being human. It means reclaiming the power trapped in shame, pain, and resistance. It means embracing your origin as part of your path,a part that teaches, strengthens, and ultimately frees you.
When someone stops fighting against their human life and heritage, something extraordinary happens:
✨ Peace arrives
✨ Self-worth grows
✨ Energy flows back
✨ Direction emerges
✨ You come home within yourself as a soul
Being Soul-embodied
Perhaps you recognize something in this story. Perhaps you have had moments whenyou wished to be someone else, or felt that a part of you was not allowed to exist.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Only a part is still seeking peace.
Peace always begins within. With your heritage. Your roots.
Make Peace with it and Come Home...
